It's quite difficult to estimate an ATAR based on ranks alone, just because your ATAR is calculated from your HSC marks (so the average of your examination mark and your assessment mark). What would also help is if you provided the average number of people who get a Band 6 in your subjects (so you also have a good understanding of what you can aim for) and your internal marks (if you have access to them)

sure thing
(in terms of an average of band 6s for a course, will the past couple of years count?)

or is there a way of finding an exact average

If you go on HSCNinja, you can find the number of Band 6s for your subjects for the last 5 years, I believe. You can use that to see where you are in terms of your cohort and whether a Band 6 is feasible or not

doing that right now

okay but hold up

why would my internal marks matter if all schools mark differently?

shouldn’t ranks themselves be sufficient?

Yh, that's fair. I guess it was just to see approximately where you are in terms of band wise. Now I think about it, it definitely won't be accurate basing off your internal marks (as schools tend to mark harsher to differentiate students, but then due to strong performance in HSC, internal marks are moderated).

Hey could you give me an Atar estimate

Here are my marks
English adv: 70% (ranked like 30)
Maths X1: 84% (5th i think)
Maths adv: 86% (top 10 - like 7ish)
Biology: 84% (12 or so - I think)
Chemistry: 91% (4th or so)
Business: 89% (5th)

School rank: 300
Number of band 6s in 2020: 47

Do you think its still achievable to get a 95 atar or no?
Im really worried about english messing up my entire atar idk

Disclaimer: Idk my exact ranks yet - these are rough as I haven't gotten reports yet

Here are also my trial marks, as some people say use those (these were taken online tho - OPEN BOOK - so idk if these even mean anything - weighed only 15% too)

English: 78% (top 20)
Maths adv: 92% (1st)
Maths X1: 86% (idk - top 10 roughly)
Business: 95% (2nd)
Chem: 85% (top 10 - roughly)
Bio: 98% (1st)

Mate this guy asked for an atar estimate in 2021 and you gave it 11 months late, I don't think you're in a position to say skill issue
