Hey all, I study at a low ranking school (400-500 usually) and using any ATAR calculators always gives me too high of an ATAR (or so I think) and would like for others to maybe give me a more realistic one.

So as I said my school is low ranking, however, compared to previous years, I think the cohort for this year is much more academic than any year in the past 5 or so years.

My subjects and ranking:

Physics: 2/13
Math Standard 2: 3/73
Investigating science: 2/88
English advanced: 7/13
Biology: 5/24

Realistically I'm aiming for anything in the low 80s.

Would it be achievable?

Given this information, your current position seems consistent with an ATAR no lower than 75 and up to 83. This essentially indicates that you have a good chance of achieving your ATAR goal. Your best-performing subjects are Physics, Mathematics Standard and Investigating Science, meaning that they are likely to make a positive contribution to your ATAR. If you have not yet sat your trial exams for these subjects, you should thoroughly prepare for them, allowing you to perform favourably and maintain (and if possible, improve) your ranks. If you have already completed your trial exams, then your goal will be to do your utmost in preparation for your HSC exams, as they constitute a great opportunity for you to solidify your overall performance and maximise the contribution to your ATAR from these subjects.

The same can be suggested regarding Biology, although to a slightly lesser extent. This means that while this subject may also make a positive contribution to your ATAR, it is likely less significant at this stage, meaning that there is a bit more room for improvement compared to your best-performing subjects. As such, you should do your best to improve your rank (if applicable) and you should thoroughly prepare for your Biology HSC exam.

On the other hand, English Advanced appears to be your lowest-performing subject. This subject may be limiting your ability to achieve your desired ATAR and is thus where there is the most room for improvement. Based on this, you may wish to consider allocating more study time towards this subject as you approach the HSC exam period.

I hope this helps! :D

Thank you so much mate, much appreciated!

I have already taken my trials and I've estimated that I'm getting 2nd in investigating science and 3rd in math (although before trials, I was 1st for both, I just think I did poorly to the point were I got dragged back, same with physics, I'm 1st at the moment but my mate takes tutoring for it and he definitely surpassed me there)

I'm mainly aiming for 81 currently for the engineering courses at UTS.

Thank you for the info!
