Australia: a homophobic society? (1 Viewer)

I've recently had a discussion with some Americans about why the rest of the world views them as ignorant, stupid and cruel. While we we discussing this, a few of them mentioned that Australia is culturally backwards, racist, homophobic and has medieval morals. =/

I was wondering are we actually homophobic, in general as a society.
