Whats wrong with Missy? Gotta respect a girl that sings with an Aussie twang and doesn't feel the need to sell out.

It isn't an Aussie twang!! Since when have you ever pronounce only "own(as in clown)-lee"?!?!?!?!

I like her songs, lyrics, music, but I HATE HER DICTION! GAH!! *tears out hair*

ok country music may not be your scene - but i think u need some on that list... what about keith urban, kasey chambers, adam brand, lee kernaghan, slim dusty (just to name a few)... in terms of record sales etc.. these guys would definately fit into the category of "acknowledgeable artists" imo

Don't think I saw The Baby Animals mentioned. They were one of my favourite Australian bands.

Whaaa?? Did I?!!
I'll take a look.

Also, to you, Jess.
I have John Williamson and Rolf Harris on there, I don't have the nerve to add anyone else as disturbing as them.

I'm going to do a plug for Aussie music - the new cover cd 'She Will Have Her Way' which has people like Missy Higgins, Clare Bowditch and Sarah Blasko covering Tim & Neil Finn songs is possibly the best cd I have heard all year... get it!
