I was insulted by the drop this year.

The only good thing is.. lol.. cept they really scale according to a bell curve, then I guess it'll be easier to get HDs for us.

Don't make the mistake of assuming high UAI = high uni grades.
People's motivations change, I know I caned many a Com/Law student in 1st year subjects

exactly-
in general, hsc performance and uni performance are not related.

It's the degree with the higher cutoff (so commerce = 95)

I'm doing mechatronic/commerce :)

But I don't do commerce till year 2...

Funny.
A friend of mine is doing engineering/commerce and he's not doing any engineering subjects this yr .

lol, he's trying to transfer to straight commerce nxt yr. Funny how you need good marks to DROP a subject instead of failing:)

Strange, I was under the impression you can switch to straight comm/eng freely, without needing a mark to do so

(ii) A student may apply to discontinue the combined BE BCom programs and elect to complete either the BE or BCom degree in accordance with the rules governing award of that degree. Following discontinuation of one of the programs (BE or BCom), courses which count toward that program will not in general count toward the remaining single degree unless they meet the single degree requirements in their own right.
