I am interested in doing the QR major in said degree. However, as quoted;
"This plan is for a Major in Quantitative Risk within the Advanced Mathematics program – 3986 - and requires permission from the Head of School of Mathematics and Statistics to enrol in."

What would I specifically need to be granted permission for this major?

Need permission to be accepted as they only want 'smart' people doing it.

Don't do the major - it won't get you a job in quant finance - you need atleast honours for such a job.
