Well, the official requirements are a band 2 in 2unit maths, and if you don't accomplish this, you have to do MATH123. Then again, I think the threshold should probably be set a bit higher than a 50 in 2unit, which is pretty damn easy to get.

You could find some trouble with units such as ACST101 which in essence is really easy, but seeing annuities based on geometric progression + other stuff could spin you out if you're not used to it. Also, You'll have to pick up MATH123 at uni, but once you get past that, I don't think you'd be in too much trouble, provided that you're pretty good at General. Try it out for a semester and see.

This is just for first year subjects btw, the only 2nd year subject that I do that you would for accounting is ACCG253, which is kinda mathsy, so I couldn't give you a hint beyond what your first year would be like. Sorry lol

You'll need to know how to plug in numbers into formulas. The formulas will either be provided for you or you'll be allowed to bring in your own formula sheet for some subjects.

Like Boxxhead said annuities plus stuff like finding the present value or simple ratios are about as "mathy" it gets.

Take a look at the last page of this

http://www.efs.mq.edu.au/EFS_docs/unit_outlines/ug/2008/acst/ACST101_S1_2008.pdf

These are the formulas required in a first year course.

it helps if your "maths-minded" because for 3rd yr accounting subjects like accg310 (consolidation) it can get really confusing but then again its all about keeping up with work and understanding it
