i just got a late round offer to go to macquarie for B of IT

i just wanted to get a quick survey to those who have done this course at macquarie or are currently doing it.

how is the campus facilities, the teachers, the area?
how is the whole course in general? is it worth it? and is it true that macquarie only allows the top students to graduate or something like that?

otherwise im doing B Design (Visual comm) at UWS and id rather not because that uni is at the end of the world

No, everyone can graduate, unless you are an idiot, then they may not let you. But i think most unis have the idiot policy. Not sure about the rest of it though. I dont do IT.

eh, i am doing the B IT degree(but i am transferring to B Sci(Computing)) real soon


its alright, you will be exposed to C++ programming first yr, and second yr you will continue with C++, and learn Java.

yeah, i've been telling ppl i will transfer to B IT since start of 2nd yr..and i couldnt be fucked, so i'll just transfer a sem before i graduate :D

how about interms of other unis that offer IT? does macquarie stand on equal grounds or would you say other unis have better IT courses?

UTS seems to be the best cos of industry links etc.

ultimately its down to how well you perform in your degree

cos i know a few that graduated with a comp degree at mac, and are doing very well in the industry..

ie grad positions @ westpac, working for csc and ibm

i got a late offer for this course as well... hated the teachers.. the departments a bit of a joke if you ask me.. i ended up just transfering to another degree at MQ.. it's good at MQ how easy it is to transfer internally
