What did you need to get in? 85 UAI, or something.

Is it hard? Depends on which subjects you pick.

How many days a week do you have to go to Uni? Depends on your timetable. Net weekly hours = around 26.

What are the courses like? Scientific.

at sydney only : 85 uai
is it hard: if u are lazy yes. (but not really just a lot of work like anything)
hrs? : I have around 24. Generally i know for chem / phys and bio you have 6 hrs a week of each minus tutorials... (bio doesn't have any tutorials 1st year)
and maths is compulsory and for ur two maths subjects it's 6 hrs a week all together including tutes (so 3 hrs each).

you only need 2 science subjects...they can be anything offered first year, thus u can also take on a subject from another faculty, i.e u could do chem, physics and english

edit: i hate maths arghhhh

It's considerably higher than 83 now.

General advice: Don't get behind, you'll screw up trying to catch up.

yea... i hate maths too... stupid stoooooooopid maths...

but then again, maths is cool, unlike english, which doesn't make no sense to me... =(

hrs: in usyd, there's alot of hrs for b sci... cuz nearly all science subjects have pracs (3hr) 3 lectures (1 hr each) and tute (1hr... btw, chem tute is bloody borin... i dun wanna go, but my conscious... ) yea, u r lookin at around 22 hr at least i fink (cuz i need an other 6 credit pt from any faculty... may be from science as well)

hardness: maths, most challenging subject i found so far
chem: easiest so far
phys, in between
acctin: pure random stuff... oh wait, u dun need to noe, cuz u prolly won't be doin acctin newaz =)

course: in the first 3wks:
in chem u learn hsc phys (nuclear chemistry)
in phys, u learn hsc 3u maths (projectile motion, heaps of calculas integration n all and formulae)
in maths, u learn hsc 4u maths(complex and vectors)
... that's wut i feel abt it

btw, jkd dragon, u r not serz!!! that urself in ur avatar!!!!
lolz, ok, i call u nxt time if i bump into any one look similar

cool thanks for replying people. By the way, where can a Bachelor of Science take you (jobwise)? And if you want to get into the BDent course in Syd, does it matter which Uni you do your BSc in?

BSc in general probably doesn't help you that much, because it's such a jack of all trades general course. It's only really useful if you intend to Master.

For your second question, I think I should leave it to someone like CM_Tutor.

If you get a decent degree from an Australian Uni, you should be OK. By 'decent' I mean with reasonable grades.

I'd have to disagree there. A good BSc can take you into a lot of different fields, depending (to some extent) on major(s).

Well I'm glad you begged to differ, so now I have reassurance that if my transfer isn't successful, I won't be stuck with a dud degree. :p

if worse comes to worse, i heard u can do engineering in the first year, and then transfer to b science (since the first year engo. subjects are like bachelor of science subjects anyways!). ;)
