Remember loud guitars and distorted singing from the early 90s? People who wear flannel shirts and uses large amounts of drugs? That is the grunge era.
Now vote for your favourite band.

Nirvana is the man

I had a tough time deciding b/w Pearl Jam and The Smashing Pumpkins...I went with the Pumpkins in the end.

I wouldn't really call The Pixies a grunge band. Sure they pioneered some of the musical dynamics, but they never really fit the whole 'grunge' image, especially seeing Trompe Le Monde was released in 1991.

So on those grounds,my favourite 'grunge' band is Nirvana.

Nirvana, but I don't mind the Stone Temple Pilots. I actually like the song that the Buffy chick features in, I can't remember the name at the moment.

yeah, the pixies don't really fit, but i like them best out of the list anyway.
Okay, The Pixies did not happen in the Grunge era. the reason why I mentioned it's name is because it's such a great band and it's a huge influence to Kurt Cobain and Nirvana which i thought The Pixies have some credits towards Grunge music.
