Band E3/E4 for Ext 2 (1 Viewer)

I was just wondering if anyone know what the marks are usually around for the 4U paper.... for cutoffs for band E3/E4.

Raw or scaled I don't really care, but yeah I have used the search function but looking for something with so little text.... = headache.

I'll take an estimate at the top brackets.

118/120 = 100%

106/120 = 95%

85/120 = 90%

a friend of mine last year says he got around 110 raw (he thinks) and his mark was 97. I think the standard will be similar if not higher this year.

Hmmm, I was wondering more or less how the E3-E4 range was, you may have sorta answered my question but im unsure of how the band system actually works for the extension subjects at this point...

Why do you want to know about bands?

Bands are stupid, they mean nothing :S

Also what do you want to know about bands in particular ?

Under that system, they are invaluable.

Under any other system. They'd be useless.

I just want to know what I need to realistically aim for for UNSW to give me an extra 2 UAI for having a decent mark in 4u math. "...

E3 = 80%~90%, E4 = 90%~100%

during my rummaging i came across this statement made in the "if you are in year 11- read this first" thread --

I heard a raw mark of 74 was scaled to 90 last year.

im not sure if he means 74/120 raw or 74% raw but, either way it's still pretty awesome! fingers crossed the scaling gods will be kind to us all!!

He meant "aligned" not scaled.

Aligning is what BOS does to convert raw exam marks into your HSC exam/assessment marks. Scaling is what UAC does to calculate your UAI so that 90 in Gen. Maths is weighted differently to 90 in MX2.
