i remember very vaguely but what happened was...

there are christian band, catholic bands etc etc, but there were not for john's religion so he decided to start his own jewish boy-band.
they make one song (and music video) and try to get signed by a jewish record label, but unfortunately the label does not sign the band.
the chorus of the song goes. "come down down down, down to jew town!"

I don't like it when people say KoRn are Linkin Park copy-cats cuz they don't know shit and if they did, they'd know KoRn was on the music scene 5 years before LP!

As for the actual band, when their CD first came out (late 1999) I thought it was awesome....but then a bunch of horrible nu-metal bands came out after that and I just can't stand the entire genre anymore, but I guess they'd be considered pioneers of it.....but, putting out a remix CD after releasing only ONE ALBUM is such a scam. However, I am looking forward to their next real new CD.

I don't like Linkin Parks music, and that whole genre...but I'm not against the actual band. At least they're real, unlike so many others. *cough*Avril*cough*

I HATE pop bands! crappy stuff like:
- nikki webster :chainsaw::chainsaw: (they played a video of her 'hit songs' for about 6 months- no joke- at work. argh!!! I went insane) I dont think the little brat even knows anything about what shes singing about.
- Scandulus (and assorted pop stars created in the same way they were)
- avril lavine
- eminem (my bro listens to him all the time, and now I cant stand the sound of his voice)

well thats enough bitching from me for now. while we're on the topic of music, does anyone know/remember peter combe?

So many bands when they were first around I liked them (eg Metallica, silverchair, Jebediah) but then your tastes change (I remember when I used to like mindless pop :O but then I went thru different phases of punk to rock to nu metal to metal to black metal to swedish death metal- but you still always find you like some element of each genre (except pop- although watching videos with the music turned down can be good :p) recently I started listening to some of my old tapes and realised I still knew nearly every word even tho I hadn't listened to them for ages.
But to the point bands I hate
NELLY!!!!!!!! aaarrrhhh it is not getting hot in here turn that shit off
Cannibal Corpse- too gory
Eminem- Will the real slim shady please shut the fuck up
Britney and clones
most pop artists
Creed
Limp Bizkit

I think I've vented enough for today :p

i dont know if i should say this but i think almost all australian bands are rubbish except for maybe one or two. Most the Australian bands that receive massive hype such as powderfinger, the whitlams, and silverchair are just plain rubbish compared to bands of the same genre overseas, particularly in america. Yes, maybe compared to other Australian bands they may sound good, but compared to international standards they are just plain crap. Thats why i dont bother with any of the australian music scenes, i just look towards America for bands of far greater quality.

I'm not a big fan of many Australian bands (because they aren't any Aussie bands playing the genre that I like) but I appreciate it because it does not follow the "trend-setters" and has its own unique sounds (like some British bands do)....and I think for some its an acquired taste too because they are exposed to American bands so much. But you have to admit, though there are alot of great American bands, theres also soooo many US bands/music thats full on shit....

True. When seeking out good American bands to listen to try to avoid all the mainstream and very commercialised bands, they are usually the worst.

yep....though the hardest part about listening to non-mainstream american bands is finding the cds here in oz...its freakin' impossible! so i have to usually end up having to import and pay like $40 for an album :(

Can you reccommed some good ones?
Off the top of my head, I seriously can't think of a US band that's come out recently that I've heard, which hasn't been utter shite...

Lol! That happens to me all the time! You find a great band then go to all the music stores to find its not bloody there!
Happens to me quite frequently.
I usually go to cdnow to order cds from the US, i usually pay between $33 - $36 plus shipping. I know its bloody expensive, but sometimes i dont mind paying more for a CD that i really want rather than settling for something in the music stores.

lucky you, i don't have access to a credit card so i have to ask the music stores to import cds for me....shitty thing about that is it sometimes takes 2 or more weeks for the cd to arrive :(

though sometimes i've been able to find cds that i am looking for for under $20 (new too, but its like a one in a million find)

I spose thats true to an extent, but you have to remember the pool ofm usicians that America ahs to choose from for starters. Its exponentially alrger than Austrlia's. America may have many more good bands, but it also has a shitloadmore shithouse bands.

I dont really like powderfinger, but Silverchair rocks, dont care what you say
