my mum works in bankstown and she says it isn't a real crash hot suburb, alot of 'bad people' around, just wondering how the campus is though...any info, comments, any info at all, facilities and what not.
thats what people perceive to believe, but its not actually how you'd think it is. i wont guarantee at night

hmm... after going to bankstown campus for a year, i really don't see what was so bad about it (and the area)? it's different to what i'm used to, living and hanging around the inner city, but it's nowhere near as bad as what people were telling me.

the campus is small and there's not much happening but it's nice and comfortable. it's actually in milperra, which is around 15mins bus ride from bankstown station. (damn 922 that only comes every half an hour :vcross: ) as for bankstown, i never hung around there for very long except for going into bankstown square once or twice, but seriously... i thought it was fine. just avoid the teenage boys leering at you at the station

anyway, after i go in to get my transcripts and to de-enrol... i have no idea when i'll go back to bankstown =\ maybe to visit uni friends though... sighe

That's pretty good considering its in Milperra, not bankstown. Crime rates are not so high. The campus is quite lenient and very tolerant, we have worser cases at Parramatta.
wat do u mean by worser cases at parra?
i aint seen nothing happening at parra man
its all peaceful

Parra is so worse than bankstown - especially towards westmead area. There are constantly murders. And at Parra railway station, some of my friends were attacked by some drunk old guy.

I've been travelling by train and bus to Bankstown for the past two years and I haven't experienced anything dodgy - I'm just assuming it's stereotypical. And yes, it's in Milperra, not Bankstown.

As for Parramatta/Westmead - I'm also attending uni at the UWS Westmead campus (travelling by train home at 9pm after class) and it's fine.

If you get shot, stabbed, bashed, etc in Milperra you'd have to be the most unlucky person on the face of the planet. The worst thing we've had is the bikie massacre, way back in the 80's but unless your part of a bikie gang you don't have anything to worry about anyway. The biggest problem your going to face is fighting the factory workers for lunch at the shop across the road. Lol.
