hey,

im doing business admin/law this year, and im trying to gather information on compulsory units and am very confused. For my BBA, what are the required 100 units? I was told on the phone that they were marketing fundamentals, HRM 107, as well as 3 BBA subjects.... but nothing on the site says anything about HRM being a required unit? Also, can I do psych with my degree?

Thanks for your help- sorry about asking stupid 'first year' questions.

Yeah this is a difficult area.

I want to move to the 2008 BBA schedule too so I can really avoid Finance/Accounting subjects.

I was told as long as you ensure you can meet the 300 level requirements via pre requisites you should be fine.

I will need to go in however to clarify my program with Rebecca Young (?).

I cant see why you wouldnt be able to do some Psych units even if it were as electives at 100/200 level. The omly thing is you dont get the reward of a Psych major as you are a BBA/LLB student as we miss the elective/major selection.

Prerequisites:

Either: admission to BPsych(Hons) or BA-Psychology/BSc-Psychology or BBA or BHRM or BMedScs

Or: an equivalent admission rank (or aggregate)

Or: for all continuing students 12cp and GPA of 2.50

Or: PSY105(P)

Yeah you can do PSY104,........but i must warn you... your going to end up loving psychology and transferring to a Law/arts-Psyche degree

Spot on. As well as meeting the minimum CP requirements.

You've got to work backwards: look at what 300 level units you've gotta do, then look at their prerequisites (at 200 lvl), and then look at those 200lvl units' prerequisites.

Rebecca Young, the business dept Academic Advisor, seems to know her stuff.

Bachelor of Business Administration:
BBA350, BBA360, BBA315 and 3cp from any 300 level BBA, MKTG, HRM or DEM unit
http://handbook.mq.edu.au/programofstudy.php?edition=2008&code=BUS04

e.g

BBA350 = Prerequisites:
Admission to BBA and BBA102 and BBA111 and 40cp

There are no 200 level subjects as pre-req :/ (same goes for the other 300 level subjects)

Even though I got accepted into a BCom degree, would I be able to simply transfer to BBA by choosing the correct study plan?

Nope. To do BBA POS you need to be in the BBA degree...
