hey am I the only beginners German student on this board? (other than Benn, Lees or Samc if you read this)

It's been three weeks since I've had a German class, feeling a bit worried about the exam. I listened to some sample listening tasks on CSU's HSC online, they are the first German words I've heard in a long time.

I should be ok with the writting, might be a bit scratchy on getting all my accusative and dative word-endings right as of my lack of practise. I wish the exam was before the holidays like the speaking was.

Ich habe für 2 Jahre in der Schule Deutsch gelernt.

Do you know how I'd express "there was... lots to drink/eat"

Es gab viel zu trinken und essen. ???

yeah i have beginners german tomorrow as well! I was wondering where all the beginners were, everyone seems to be continuers. and I read the continuers' posts and im like "what does that even say?!?" lol there is such a big difference between the two. what do you guys think the writing section will be? I'm hoping it's a letter about what we're planning on doing next year or what we did last weekend....:) good luck everyone!

Tatsächlich sagt man "auf Deutsch schreiBen! Aber wenn sie große Angst davor hätten, wäre es möglich, dass sie auch schreien! :p

Viel Glück wünsch ich euch auch!

heh, I hope its "about what we're planning on doing next year or what we did last weekend" .. sounds funny. I hope it's about how we feel NOW about what happened YESTERDAY and how we'd like it change for TOMORROW. If I were 1337 enough I'd incorporate an imaginative journey... or maybe memorize some of those crazy German philosophers speeches. Or maybe brainwash the examiner with some Nazi propoganda speeches, I actually studied one of Hitler's for an other related text in imaginative journeys. Got over it though, too hard and psycho.

Viel Glück

Way to bump an old thread! :p

Btw, the sentences should read:

Ich habe Bratwurst gegessen und ein Glas Orangensaft getrunken.

:)

Hi! The weather is fluctuating wildly at the moment. We've had days of 28 degrees (last weekend) and days where it's pissing down with rain (today). I would say the saying "April, April, macht was er will!" applies here, but it's May! Nevertheless I would say come visit Germany!

Aside from the weather, it is a great country and worth a visit any time of year, although you'd probably prefer it in summer. I've been told the weather will sort itself out soon and I can expect an average summer temperature of 25-30 degrees.

fustenfiledbruck? 2004-5. or was it 2003-4?
Went skiing for the first time overseas? Es hat viel spass gemacht. Lieder bin ich eine schrecklicher skifahrenin…
hast du gluwien getruken? oder geht es nur im winter? wie witzig sind double decker busses?!?!?! and "eintunken" card as we called them. hahaha, transport over there made me giggle

because I went over there with only knowledge of greeting and numbers, whenever I said these things, I never really understood answers. But since I came back to aussie I sat in with the continuers class and learnt more random stuff than I really should have in beginners.

keep this thread going... i miss my german
