i just saw the video of that columbian weightlifter. it's so sad when you see his face just before his last attempt. it made me teary. lol.

now i'm watching all the swimming vids.

i hate it when they show water polo or hockey or any other team sports. takes up too much time and it is SO boring. they should ban time outs. there's like, 13 seconds to go. just finish it off already. oh god i hate it when there's like, 2 minutes left of the game and i get excited to watch something else after, and it ends up being like, 15 minutes.

anyway, michael phelps is so goddamn annoying. nobody's going to beat him. he ends up being like, 2 seconds ahead in every race. i just want someone to beat him. i wish ian thorpe was still around. lol.

i need to catch up on all the athletics i missed out on...

lol my post didn't work and i ended up reading over the new posts and ran to the tv when someone said hackett's on. i like how he's still around. i hope he gets an individual medal.

gtg back to watching swimming.

someone proposed a theory today: the chinese built the pool to be a little bit shorter than 100m so that more world records are broken at the beijing olympics than at any other olympics event

what does everyone think?

I'm sure the length would have been certified by FINA.

who knows - the people certifying it may have been paid off. I've heard many stories of China making bribes in the past from a person who's received those bribes (used to be a boxing judge, and then I think on the IOC)
