Best SDD books?

i know about 20% of the SDD course so i need to start LEARNING it properly since i want at least band 5 for it.

i would really appreaciate if someone would tell me what books are really good for this years HSC SDD. like which are based on this years syllabus most and which explain the best way and have great examples. I know there are some books that have come out in the last 6 months, written by people who made the syllabus. Anoyone heard of any of those?

any info will be greatly appreciated.

At the moment i'd recommend the Sam Davis textbook.

There may be others, but i'm not sure on how new they may be.

Sam Davis and Excel tends to be the better one

of course sam davis and excel will rate highly.

BUT, the sdd course is such that knowing the texts inside out wont be as helpful as doing A LOT of past papers. that would be my best 'resource' for this subject.

and of course fatmuscle's notes:D;)

thanks alot to all who posted, i already have the excell 2001 SDD book, and now im just loking where to buy this sam davis one.

i found one site (http://www.pedc.com.au/text.htm#SDDHSCTRK) that sells the sam davis for $41 and some teachers resource kit for $96, so i ask is the teachers bit worth buying? i really only want the answers and nothing else from the teachers kit.

The book without answers would be pretty useless, especially when asked to make algorithms, so is there a place you can buy the book and just the answers without all that other crap that comes with teachers kit?

Yes, Sam Davis' SDD text book is IMO the best, the heinemann and wilson are terrible.

dont worry, i think your notes suck ;) j/k

you won't be the first person who's told me that!

and even if you did say that, I wouldn't disagree!
they may suck to you, but they might be great to someone else!
so it doesn't really matter to me! I've done my HSC!

my gf told me not IPT notes suck!
and i'll admit, some bits really do suck!

I wish there were more past papers ;) Computing Studies doesn't correspond too well to the current course...
