this guys got the right idea

miss erykah badu shits on all the modern female R&B singers, except jill scott and lauryn hill.....'baduizm' is one of the best R&B albums i have ever heard, so fucking soulful 'ya dont wanna steal from my apple tree'

I don't actually think Alicia Keys has really THAT good a voice as everyone makes her out to have. But she's still cool.. i dig some of her songs. She puts alot of emotion in it. But for overall - Beyonce.

I agree. Vocally, she pales in comparison to Beyonce and her new song "Kharma" really sucks.

I'd go Aretha Franklin, personally, if this was an all time list (such a traditionalist).

Anyway, from the list I chose Janet Jackson. And am disgusted that I'm the only person to do so. Her 80s stuff in particular is awesome (though everyone's 80s stuff is). While lately she's left a lot to be desired, one can not ignore the woman who did such songs as What Have You Done For Me Lately? (doo-doo-doo-doo, ooohh yeah) and Miss You Much.

Plus she claims Prince is her greatest influence.

Aaliyah [ r.i.p. ];
Alicia Keys;
Beyonce

[ in that order too ]
IMO Aaliyah's second album was probably the best :D
