Some of my favourite lines, from various sources include;

Life is but a tale told by a fool, Full of sound and fury, signifying nothing-William Shakespeare, 'Macbeth'.

The shame of greatness is that it disjoins power from remorse-William Shakespeare, 'Julius Caesar'.

His waxen wings did mount above his reach-Christopher Marlowe, 'Doctor Faustus'.

Indifference is the paralysis of the soul. It is premature death.-Anton Chekhov, 'A Dreary Story'.

Youth is happy because it has the ability to see beauty. Those who continue to see beauty will never grow old"-Franz Kafka, "Blue Octavo Notebooks' (I think.)

America, I've given you everything and now I'm nothing/
-Allen Ginsberg, 'America'.

In the intoxication of falling, man was prone to believe himself rising-Hermann Broch, 'The Death Of Virgil'.

Anything that dies has had some kind of aim in life, some
kind of activity, which has worn out; but that does not apply to Odradek.
Am I to suppose, then, that he will always be rolling down the stairs, with
ends of thread trailing after him, right before the feet of my children,
and my children's children? He does no harm to anyone that one can see; but
the idea that he is likely to survive me I find almost painful.
-Franz Kafka, 'The Cares Of A Family Man' http://www.geocities.com/rowsofhouses/familyman.txt

Be a worldchild, form a circle, before we all go under-Thom Yorke, 'Street Spirit (Fadeout)'

More to possibly come.

Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow,
Creeps into the petty pace from day to day,
To the last syllable of recorded time,
And all of our yesterdays have lighted fools,
The way to dusty death, out, out brief candle,
Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player,
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage,
And then is heard no more, it is a tale,
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.

I'm a sucker for Shakespeare quotes :D

i dont rate shakespear much. i hate people who look for a "literary quote" and immediately go to shakespeare, there's so much more out there.

That's true, but Shakespeare was a genius and some of his quotes were excellent.

I hated him when we were doing Othello, I thought that was the worst. I love Hamlet & A Midsummer's Night Dream.
