the whole iriver range is all class, iriver has awesome sound quality allround, stock sennheiser headhones are the icing on the cake :p

If you are overly concerned with sound quality, maybe you should just get CD discman with a 1-bit Dual D/A converter. Also, a decent pair of cans is a must if you're worried about sound quality. To be frank, bud headphones don't do music justice.

...an external headphone amp would help too. :]

Personally i'd go for the 4gig mini ipod, but i'd use it more as a flash drive than anything else.

I thought only the Shuffles had flash drives? The mini's have a hard disk?

I think they mean that they will use it to store files on (like a flash drive) rather than play music.
I use mine for a bit of both, take files to and from school - but also for the music.
