I'm trying to figure out if there is any better carrier than who I am currently with. I am using Virgin's bean counter prepaid plan, which offers $25 for $25, giving me $0.10c sms and $0.10c calls (minus the $0.25c connection fee).

Does any other provider offer cheaper/more sms or calls?

If you're with Virgin, the $29 big cap is probably the best way for you to go. It's $450 worth of credit.

Optus for $30 a month you get unlimited texts to anyone, $350 credit, unlimited data usage for social networking sites. Works well for me considering I don't use $350 credit on phone calls in a month.

Just did the calculations and that's a much better deal. Although a lot shorter timespan. I might look into it.

Do you have a link to this cap? I'd like to check it out.
Thanks.

You do have to top up every month. However, I found when I was on the $15 one, I'd go through two a month anyway, so it worked out cheaper for me at least.

Timeframe aside, dollar for dollar it's definitely better.

If you text or call a lot of people who are also on the Virgin Mobile network then it's probably a better deal.
