Best related text(novel) to go with the The Simple Gift (1 Viewer)

It seems that a fair amount of people on BoS , are doing The Simple Gift by Steven Herrick as their prescribed text. I was just wondering for my sake and for others, what would be the best related text in terms of linking the aspects of belonging and so on?

Choose your own, seriously. I think the originality of a text is very important.
Choose any poem, film, ad, whatever.

There is no 'best' related text. You could make one up... but yea

I'm doing simple gift too...and my teacher suggested several related texts

1. The island (Picture book)
2. The chocolat ( movie)
3. The sad book ( Picture book)

She mainly focused on these 3 and linked it to simple gift as there are lots of links and similarities in characters etc..so yeah they're pretty good for related texts~!

into the wild and the simple gift are basically parallel with each other, that is what im doing and they match up really well
