Agreed.UNSW is pretty much wholly based on science & engineering. That is what the institution specializes in, and has a massive emphasis on physics & mathematics. The maths department is world renowned, so are their engineering degrees. Would recommend any day. I've been to Melbourne Uni which looks exactly like Sydney Uni, and would not recommend, you spend more time dealing with wankiness than doing something exciting.
I will put it this way, UNSW's motto is "Scientia".
It is the absolute bomb for science & engineering, and will take to town USyd in quality any day. Unless you want to do Law/Arts or some other useless crap, come to UNSW.
Plus the people (students + lecturers) and atmosphere here is great, you will actually begin enjoying coming to class.
Yeh UNSW has a strong emphasis on the science backgroundAgreed.
Also, UNSW does lots of research into Physics be it Solid State matter, Quantum Computing, etc.
Even UNSW has its own School of Materials Science & Engineering.
I think UNSW focuses quite intensely on their Commerce and Law depts as well. UNSW is from what I have heard, on par with USYD in the Law area. Definitely go to USYD if you're considering arts, but for Law, Commerce and Engineering, UNSW is the way to go! They're the best in NSW for those areas.UNSW is pretty much wholly based on science & engineering. That is what the institution specializes in, and has a massive emphasis on physics & mathematics.
