I've heard rumours regarding Television possibly coming out, which could be interesting..
i really doubt that

all australian festival line ups pretty much suck arse. they're always a mishmash of artists who are vaguley touring the region at the time and mediocre australian bands.

Not always. Livid 2002 had Mogwai, The Dirty Three, Morrissey and Trail of Dead, and BDO' 1993 had Sonic Youth and Bjork. :)

Generally though, I would agree.

Oh be fair now :p

I admit Australian festival lineups aren't as good as their European/American counterparts (Yeah, I want ozzfest/lollapalooza/download/woodstock as well)

But come on, they're not that bad.

Last year we got Metallica, The Darkness, The Mars Volta, Muse, Fear Factory, The Strokes, and we were *that* close to getting A Perfect Circle.

And we've had some great bands in the past... Nine Inch Nails, Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Rammstein, etc.

Even if they're not as good as the overseas festivals (face it, it's a bitch to play in Australia), they're still worth the money you pay.

Bad religion would be sweet.. their livid pull-out was bullshit :( Rancid would be a killer show.. not too fussed on green day lately.. acca dacca would be great, particularly if you plan to be as drunk as I am

Not that I actually enjoy their music, but I respected Green Day as a band.

But touring with Good Charlotte?
Urgh.

Please tell me at least that Good Charlotte are supporting Green Day (and not the other way around)...
Otherwise the mere mention of "Green Day" is going to make me throw up from this day onwards.

i don't know where you got the idea that they were touring with GC from dear, as they (GC) have said nothing about it. Tho only thing that GC have said regarding an Australian tour is that they hope to be back sometime between Jan and March

neither Green Day, nor Good Charlotte's web sites say anything about it, so i choose to ignore it untill they announce it
*also ignores nasty GC comments*
