Identify the general word equation for photosynthesis and outline this as a summary of a chain of biological reactions.

How can you answer this dot point thoroughly. Include websites if you think it will help. I'm not too fused about the word equation, if the bold didn't give it away.

For that second part, I got this:



Photosynthesis is thought to occur in two stages:

Light Reactions of Photosynthesis:

Only this stage requires sunlight
- Light absorbed by chloroplasts is used to split water molecules
- This process is called photolysis
- In this process, the water molecule is split into oxygen and hydrogen
- This process occurs on the thylakoids of chloroplasts

Light-Independent Reactions of Photosynthesis:
- Also called the carbon-fixation stage
- Hydrogen released from the first reaction is joined with carbon dioxide to form sugars
- This process requires energy


I had to type it up, I done this one a few days ago, I think.

I got some info from NSW biology, more info from a stapled book about the topic given by the teacher and a bit from the net :)
you sent me bio NSW. they went deep into the calvin cycle and got my head twisting. but what you gave me is great! do you get how a fish respires? and also when are your half yearlies??

Half yearlies? They don't exist at my school anymore :)

For the second part; this is a more brief answer as oppose Spiritual Being's.

Photosynthesis takes place in two stages. Each stage/phase is a series/chain of chemical reactions.

• The Light Phase/Stage (Photolysis): Involves the splitting of water using the energy of light. (photo=light, lysis=splitting).

• The Light-Independent Phase/Stage: involves using carbon dioxide to make sugar. No light is used in this stage/phase.

Description;
• Tracheae is a system of branching tubes
• Tracheae opens through the spiracles along the abdomen
• Branches throughout the tissues of the insect, bringing air directly to the cells

Organism; Frogs
GES; Lung & Skin
Description;
• Oxygen from the air diffuses into the moist skin which is transported by the blood to the body
• The lungs are simpler structures with internal subdivisions

Organism; mammals
GES; Lungs
Description;
• Large surface area is increased by the highly folded microstructures called alveoli
• There is a rich supply of blood to transport gases to and from the lungs

what do you mean rich supply of vessels enable gases to and from the gills. I think it is also important to state that the blood in the blood vessels move in a contercurrent direction with the water to increase rate of diffusion. also the capillaries have a large surface area with a thin very permeable layer to allow the dioxygenated blood to become oxygenated.

Thanks man! Yeah, you obviously can't see here, but in my notes, I ensure that I use a sufficient amount of colour to both help recall info and to not make studying boring haha. The least I could do here was put some words in bold :p

Isnt that just lots of blood vessels around the gills to ensure max diffusion of gases into blood?
And yes, stating countercurrent direction is important.
