What exactly are the kind of organisms are we going to be dissecting?

anybody cut themselves, any blood squirts in people eyes?

i would like to know :)

Um, for me in first year, we had mice the size of your foot (DON'T open the digestive tract, you've been warned.), a heart prob. sheep's if memory serves, and some other things...

Human Biology: same frozen cat that has been used for a few years, cow's femur, cane toad and various animal organs: kidney, heart.

heheh in the anatomy labs did u c those large labled boxes with body bits in it? espectially the box with the name tag " Heads" lol i dare u to open it.

Somehow I highly doubt that they would let you dissect a real human head due to legal issues.

my family wanted me to become a MD........but I refused....90% bcuz I can't handle dissecting pple...or stuff......But on a happier note....I don't mind shooting them...:p

we did an autopsy on a human-- not much blood or squirting but plenty of blubbing festering flesh-- enjoy!

You don't 'enjoy' autopsies. It's a once in a lifetime event I'd prefer not to do again.

The issue with human specimens are that privacy issues, dealing with the specimen's family prohibiting such encounters, possibility of encountering a specimen you know, and health and regulation issues, prevent this sort of thing happening. I dunno what policy they run there but as a nurse we weren't allow to view specimens in hospital morgues and it was only through special circumstances that a 'fortunate' few of us got to view an autopsy. Students are usually prepared for such encounters before they are permitted to do so.

im trying to do limb preparation for next term :)..

one of the 1337 registrars wants to do resp med.. and he was near us and gets a head + throaciac section and was practising to do bronchoscopies
