i mean what would be the best two scenes in these texts to use to compare and contrast on all levels. e.g values, settings, characters.

Here are some ideas on setting...

similarities -
immediate conveying of futurisic setting - BNW - opening paragraphs "squat grey buildings of only 34 stories" BR - openingscene "Los Angeles 2019" panoramic scene of never ending industrialised LA

differeneces -
setting - BNW - cleanliness/sterility froom opening scene. BR - any scene highlights effects of pollution, acid rain, dirty

it would be difficult to find two scenes that cover all that you're after

the way the environment is cared for - ie the values that the people in the texts hold about their environment

setting - devoid of nature

characters - in BNW opening, characters are proud of their environment, however opening of BR shows that the inhabitants are ashamed of it, lonely
