is it legal to have bonfires in sydney beaches? if not, then how can this be gotten around? like, permission from the council or anyhting like that?

well it would be in early december... and im thinkin about doin it at a more secluded beach to avoid beach patrols.

do you know its illegal for a fact?

most are patrolled yes.. apart from reclused beaches
and the beginning of december- usually late november marks the beginning of the 'Total Fire Ban' season. In some parts of NSW it started today- and i'm pretty sure sydney fell under it today as well- because of the rather hot weather today.
Total Fire ban won't be lifted..
and yesh, its totally illegal to have a bonfire on a beach in sydney - when in drought.. easy to spread and burn already 'dry' land up. Very very dangerous where there is far drought.

yeah it wont matter all u need is for an anal resident or sumthing to see the smoke and your in big trouble. besides take it from someone who lives in sydney who has had family members, relitives and close friends evacuated because of bush fires that u would feel so bad if u started a major fire. And its very possible the dune grasses are very flammable
