I stumbled upon this book written by Joel Richardson that does an exhaustive comparison of the Christian beliefs about the antichrist and Muslims belief of their messiah called Al-Mahdi. The similarities are very close and the book offers a strong case that Islam is potentially the one world religion spoken of in Daniel & Revelations. I highly recommend that you read this book if you are at all interested in this type of subject matter (or even if you are not). You can read it for free online if you don't want to buy it at
http://www.answering-islam.org/Authors/JR/Future/index.htm

Many of you may have noticed that Al-Mahdi is whom
Iran’s president Ahmadinejad has been speaking of lately. His belief is that he must bring about worldwide destruction & chaos in order to cause the Al-Mahdi (the hidden Imman) to return out of hiding and take his place as the head of the Islamic Caliphate (Islamic papacy previously abolished in 1924).

"Antichrist Islam's Awaited Messiah: A fascinating study and comparison of the end-time beliefs of the World’s two largest religions. Through this groundbreaking examination of both Islamic and biblical prophecy, a frightening picture of a very possible future emerges. Discover the startling similarities between the biblical Antichrist and Islam’s Messiah figure known as Imam al-Mahdi. A must read for anyone who wishes to better understand Islam, Bible prophecy or the spiritual factors and the underlying forces driving the present early stages of a final clash of ideologies and civilizations."

*Yawn*

Lose the sales pitch (or better yet, the over-zealous religious connotations) and maybe I'll bother to read your post.

If he dropped those, I doubt here'd be anything left to read.

All in all, two thumbs down.

Some church said Pope is the anti-christ mentioned in revelation in the new testaments.

The thread starter was clearly referring to the book itself, or parts of the book, rather than their own opinions.

Bare in mind this is Shia Islam.

A majority of Shia scholars agree on the following detail of events that will occur in the final days:

1) The Dajjal will claim to be the savior of humanity and people of all faiths will unite under his religion
2) Most people around the world will be able to communicate with each other and see each other in the palm of their hands
3) There will be mass killings of Shias in Iraq (around the Euphrates), and there will be prices put on their hands, even if they are not criminals
4) In Palestine and Syria (the region may be allied or one), there will be nearly 70,000 Jews of illegitimate birth serving in the army
5) There will be a revolt by a "Yamani" who will be defeated in his efforts
6) The Mahdi will reappear and make a speech at the Kaba and will gather an army of 313 generals and thousands of followers to defeat the Dajjal
7) A person by the name of "Sufyani" (his religion is not mentioned, though he is a descendant of the disintegrated Ummayyad dynasty whose scattered descendants may have been in the Levant and Spain or Morocco over the last 12 centuries) will lead forces from Syria across Iraq to Arabia to defeat the Mahdi's forces along with his Allies
8) At the battlefront near Mecca, Dajjal's forces will be swallowed by the sand
9) The Mahdi will re-establish the true Islam and the world will find harmony
10) There will be 27 years of his reign on earth
11) A hypocrite Jewish woman will kill him by dropping a (poisened) rock on his head
12) The resurrection of men and women will begin as the Day of Judgement will commence

Hinduism: world will end in approximately 2036
Maya: "End of the World" the 21 December, 2012
Hopi: The land would be criss-crossed by a giant spider's web <--- LOL INTERWEBZ OMG END OF WORLD IS COMING
Christianity: Some Christians in the 1st century AD believed the end of the world could come
Buddhism: Buddha predicted that his teachings would disappear after 500 years, the span of time was expanded to 5,000 years.
Judaism: the end of days will occur at or before the year 2240

The point is the thread starter is taking two seperate religions beliefs, and combining it to form propoganda.

For example - Bush believes the messiah is already here. Charles Manson believes he's the messiah. *Oohh* do you believe in your president? (Texan redneck says: Yah-huh!) Then Charles Manson is teh messiah. (Redneck believes)

(Basically just echoing what objects said.)

Ahmadinejad is a good man who only wants what is best for his people.

lol, the mayans have a calendar that has a long term chart and a short term one,

the long term chart- or year, was supposed to end in 2012, but i think it just means that they need to go and buy a new calendar

but the conspiracy theorists online go crazy with that idea lol

muslims believe jesus is the messiah... although this author seems to have done some research, and i dont have the time to read it so i'll just leave it at that...
