Two words: Matthew Reilly. If you liked any of Dan Brown's books, check this Aussie author out to see where Brown borrowed a fair few of his ideas (read: blatantly plagaised).

Even better, MR has two books out this year: Seven Ancient Wonders and Hell Island.

Michael Crichton is also excellent.

I don't think you can accuse one action/thriller writer of plagarisim without accusing them all of it, all the books in that genre are based on exactly the same ideas and plot structures, although I do quite enjoy Matthew Reilly and Michael Crichton books as much as I don't want to admit it. I finished Scarecrow the other day, but whats with Reilly's complete Americanisation of his novels, he even uses American terms like sidewalk instead of footpath

Read it if you like classic literature and dont consider Jane Austen to be evil and Emily Bronte to be "awful".
