I have the hiccups.
Drink 7 gulps of water without breathing. I get hiccups all the time and it works for me. That, or just forget about them and they'll go away.

Boost is expensive but very delicious. Juice Station is more likely to survive at a uni, but Boost beats the shit out of it taste-wise.

Notices location: Newtown.

Wow, it's as if the location has infested your mind. You don't always have to be alternative. If maccas weren't publicly accepted and utilized, would they still exist?

Boost at Uni? Nice. A bakery and Subway would be good additions too.
Oooh yes I'd love a nice, cheap Viet bakery at usyd!

1. Maccas offers reasonably priced food which a fair chunk of students consider decent.
2. $1 million is a lot of money.

I don't see what would be wrong with a bakery? It would be hella better than the dog food they serve up and call "union catering"...

Ok no Viet bakery. Their food is a little bit crap, but it's cheap.
How about a Baker's Delight? No dogs in sight there, only delicious cheese and bacon pullaparts.

$1.1 million for the SRC, and that's just the SRC. On top of that, in-kind services like phone (a bill of $32000 in 2005) and electricity.

The Union will probably receive extensive funding in its own right. If I've heard correctly, the Clubs and Societies program has Already received funding from the university.

*sigh* I really don't know why the phone bill makes you angry. The SRC does have to make phone calls. But, more to the point, it would be good if you stated where you get your figures from. You'll find the correct figure was $20,546.

The figure of $32000 came from SRC working group discussions of which I was a part, produced by President Wood himself, and supported by SRC staff. I am concerned about the high operating costs of the SRC, which could quite easily be streamlined with good economic management.

A 20,000 phone bill is something like 400 a week, if campus was open all year around. That's a lot of money, don't you think?
For the record, my understanding is that the SRC operates throughout the entire year, not just when uni is in session.

Maccas food would be better than union food, and cheaper, and it would provide on-campus jobs for students.

Mcdonalds is also very supportive of the community, and i'm sure if they were on campus they would fund so many of our student events like revues, like they fund things like little athletics etc in the wider community.

And their service would be much faster than a boost juice or a subway, and hence much more practical for the lunchtime rush.

But i doubt it would ever happen, i mean no one wants "unhealthy" food on campus now do they? (*Cough*, Donut King *Cough* Triangular shaped "fish" *Cough* meat pies and sausage rolls*)
