I am excited to announce that Bored of Studies has partnered with Parramatta Library to host FREE seminars aimed at students like you!
The goal of the seminars is to help you get a head start and deeper understanding of concepts in the Preliminary HSC course. We will particularly focus on concepts being introduced for the first time into the new syllabus - which are often difficult to fully understand and the resources out there are not as extensive as they could be.
On this occasion, we will be hosting seminars for Mathematics and Chemistry for both Year 11 and Year 12 students. Key details are below.

HSC MATHEMATICS EXTENSION 2

• Applications of complex numbers in polynomials
• Roots of unity
• Using complex numbers and polynomials to prove trigonometric relations

• Statistics (a brand new topic in the syllabus!)
• The concept of random variables
• Relationships between probability and discrete random variables
• Expected value and variance
PRELIMINARY CHEMISTRY

• The Schrodinger model of the atom with focus on spdf notation
• Intramolecular and intermolecular bonds
• The concept of moles and gas laws
• Case studies from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples (a new but important part of the new syllabus!)
