You have to be cool like me, get yourself an optical mouse (assuming you're using a ball-mouse, and yes, there are such things as balled-mice) - just don't read into the ball part

No mousepad is the way to go, any surface but glass.

But I might buy a BOS mousepad to support BOS.

stupid USB ports don't work when i'm in win2k, so i have to use ball mouse. In linux, optical!

Are they USB 1.1 or 2.0 ports?
Tried downloading Service Pack 4?

*All* USB ports? or just the ones at the front (if any). You can always stick to a PS/2 mouse (*shrug*) when you're in 2k.

My USB (1.1), using backward compatible 2.0 ports work in win2000.

Maybe try giving WU a go?

I remember seeing a few 2000/XP recommended (as well as critical) USB related patches lying about. It couldn't hurt to install a few, see how it goes

I ordered a T-shirt this morning, when I couldn't sleep.

Went to bed (ordered by mum) at midnight, got off IRC.
Woke up at 1am, stayed on until 7am.
