If a course requires a certain subject to be done in HSC as a "pre requisite" and I take a bridging course for that subject, does that give me the accreditation?
So does the bridging course satisfy this "pre requisite" requirement?

Adelaide Med says this:

Applicants applying on the basis of interstate and overseas certificates and the international baccalaureate will have to satisfy the requirements of the certificate they have undertaken and include at least one quantitative/experimental subject and one language rich subject in the subjects being presented for it. The expertise of the South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre will be drawn upon to identify whether applicants have attained the Year 12 academic threshold.

Melbourne say they have prerequisites that you must have studied and attained a min score of 35 (for VCE) however they say nothing about hsc subjects.

Utas med you have to have studied phys and chem and attained a min standard.

Monash med
Prerequisites for students in Year 12

Students studying Year 12 are required to obtain a study score of at least 30 in English and chemistry.

if the bridging course is run by the same uni that offers the course you are taking, then yes.

Usually bridging courses are used for reccomended or assumed knowledge, rather than pre-requ's

I did a bridging science course at Monash last year. It wasn't to satisfy a prerequisite, but to gain adequate or a base knowledge for the science component of my course, as I didn't do physics or chemistry in year 12.

Dear xxxx,

Thank you for your email. Unfortunately bridging courses are not
considered to fulfill the prerequisites for the MBBS.

Kind regards

Some universities have requirements about minimum scores in subjects aswell like Melb, you have to get over 35 in english and .......blah blah. Might be an idea to check up on those aswell.

You never stated chem :p

Satisfactory completion of the VCE and a study score of at least 35 in VCE Units 3 and 4 English (any), Chemistry, and in one of Mathematical Methods or Specialist Mathematics or Physics, and undertake the UMAT.

Yep, no chem, although they have minimum score requirement. About ~70 for english/chem/maths. (Not for you, just for informing other people)
