I for one absolutely adore british comedy. Some of the stuff that came out of Britain during the 70's and 80's was pure class. Some of my faves include:
- Monty Python (everyone should love them)
- The Young Ones
- Fawlty Towers
- Dad's Army
- Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy
There are some other honorable mentions such as "'Allo 'allo", that english spy pretending to be a gendarme is just hillarious... Good moaning...
Well, I can't be the only one who loves british comedy. Who else does? What are your favourites? Post it here!

Black Books definately, but Father Ted has to be up there. I didnt think the television version of the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy was anywhere near as good as the books or the radio drama though

Fawlty Towers. For a show that has influenced a lot of comedy, it's hard to believe that only a handful of episodes were mafe ...
i'm with you there mate.
however the whole 12 episodes thing left people wanting more, and that's one of the things that makes the show so desirable.
unlike the simpsons, for example, which is just getting boring
