The H<sup>+</sup> reacts with a H<sub>2</sub>O molecule to form a H<sub>3</sub>O<sup>+</sup> molecule.
The conjugate acid/base pairs (in that order) are:
H<sub>2</sub>CO<sub>3</sub>/HCO<sub>3</sub><sup>-</sup>
H<sub>3</sub>O<sup>+</sup>/H<sub>2</sub>O
