Hi everyone!

Um hey, just wondering if I could get people's opinions on here about Business Studies, Legal Studies and Economics. Anyone do all three? What's it like?

Yeah, what I wanted to know most is which course would you say is the most useful and/or practical? Just in general, which of the three is most practical?

Which course is most interesting?

Oh and ...when I leave school, I might be a teacher, a journalist or a lawyer...or even something completely different - which course would be best for each of these careers?

So yeah - just which course:
- is most practical?
- is most interesting?
- is most relevant to me?
- have you enjoyed most?

- James :D

My advice would be to wait till you are in year 10 because your subject choices change.
Do you do commerce in year 9? You'll see aspect of each of these courses in commerce.
Business is probably the easiest out of the three and Economics is probably the most difficult.

i'm doing all 3, and it's really good because some of the concepts cross over the subjects.

most practical course would probably be business, but legal if you're a bad ass and you break the law.

most interesting is definitely economics.

most relevant to you, considering you wanna be a teacher, journo or lawyer, any could be relevant.

i've loved all of them. didn't really enjoy economics at the beginning because i waas finding it difficult to get my head around the concepts, but now i love it.

i say go for all 3.

Hi Schoey!

I say - go for Business! I really like it and it will help me if I want to establish my own business after school - perhaps I will set up my own restaurant. But yeah it gives you good problem solving skills and it's really practical, for example you learn about why business is important to you - it's part of the course!

And you also learn what type of business structure would be most suitable to you or to someone else - we did a speech on this - you can choose to buy into s franchise, set up your own business from scratch or buy another person's business from them! :D Also interesting is learning about Employment Relations which will come later on in the course for me - this is really quite straight-forward I've heard but not as easy as you'd think. Yeah it's really good - a lot of it's common sense, too.

So - BUSS or maybe ECO if you want to do something in the finance industry...LST is good too but it can be a bit dry - it's up to you! And yea it's good to know what you want to do early but you do have quite a while to decide so keep that in mind! :D

Most practical: Business or Legal Studies.
Most interesting: Legal.
Most relevant: Legal.
Enjoyed most: Legal!

I'm doing all three. But I'm ca-razy about Legal Studies. It's very. very. rewarding. :)

I agree that Business Studies has the easiest concepts, because everything is pretty much common sense. But personally, the contents are extremely dull, and there is a lot to remember.
