my old flatmate used to busk in central stn tunnel every now and then, he would end up with more money for his time than if he were working in retail or whatever. depends where you are and what youre playing i guess

yeah.. what about licences. The sydney CBD ones are like 40 bucks a year, but most shires charge like 50 bucks a month.. where do you guys busk?

i used to busk when i was younger, about 8 or 9 years old. i took my instrument to circular quay every sunday and sat on one of those round hedges and played for half a day. the most i made was about 100 bucks. it's really not that profitable, especially on windy days. some ppl were really generous though, once a bus driver stopped on his route and asked a passerby to drop me some coins. that was so nice!

I know buskers who make shitloads of cash. Tax free cash.

Ive never tried it, but they say the best way to make money is to play songs that are going to appeal to the average passerby - ie, you try and get a handle of how old they are and play songs from what would have been their youth.

i do most of the time..but sometimes i just dont have any


my year 9 science teacher used to busk in paramatta all the time
we would see him there after school...poor guy everyone used to bag him out

he went to our skool...was dux of the skool
got like 99.something in the hsc
decided to become a science teacher at our skool
omg..lives with his mum
is a real science nerd
has soo much knowledge that when u ask him a simple question he will talk for hours explaining it
i think hes loaded..but he dresses like a bumb
and last i heard he had a young asian girlfriend
such is life

Once a bum threw a metal pole at me cause he was asking for money but i instead gave him a timezone coupon (i was out of cash).

Being an English/Politics/History buff Im wary of anyone who devotes their life to science. But Im sure they feel the same way about me.

I busk, every thursday.

I go to the main street in town during peak hour, when everyone is rushing about in their business suits and uniforms. I set up my 16000W sound system and hook it up to two turntables and a mixer.

Then I scream into my microphone "MAKE SOME FUCKING NOISE BITCHES" and start pumping phat beats. While I'm not actually mixing though I graffiti and kick in the glass windows of local businesses just so everyone knows I'm 'street' and haven't 'sold out' as it were.

It's quite the adventure, you should try it sometime.
