we can still use the calculators we used at school right? (FX-82L or whatever)
Im getting sick of them, they last 2 weeks......

sorry my 82TL lasted me from year 7 till year 11, and then i baught an 82MS, i went through 4 or 5 of them till year 12....

you cant use calcs in class tests thou, only the solar casio they lend you for the exam.
i have a ti-89 and found it pretty useful for checking results and simplifications, etc, but dont depend on it cause yeah you cant use it in class tests

Rightio then. Hey, what about laptops - what do you do with them during tests so they don't get stolen and such?

you don't always get issued with a calculator for your exams.
you'll have to check if you're going to or not

notebooks:
in tutes for class tests, just in your bag at your feet or the seat next to you.
you dont really bring them for final exams and stuff..

Not all exams require a calculator. You are told on the exam timetable what materials will be provided (eg calculator) and what you are allowed to bring.

well one of my calcs is a solar/battery fx-82MS
the button placement is similar enough as to not make you totally lost when thrown the 911 for the first time. a few differences but you'll be fine

The uni sells the FX911Ws in various stationary shops on campus.

Quad store, stationary shop next to the chemist in Matthews, and the shop at the top of the Basser steps (under Esmes). They all sell calculators.
