Leibnez also developed calculus independantly of Newton. He also developed the ∫ f(x) dx notation, the product rule for differentiation and other bits and pieces.

Leibnez > Newton. Newton was a pansy Englishman.

Oh, and take a look at Xeno's Paradoxes. The Greeks were so damn close to inventing Calculus.

Leibnez did not know anything about Netwon's Calculus at the time. Leibnez submitted his stuff faster, but Newton was more prominent. Both developed different "forms" of Calculus, so to speak. The two are merged now. Leibnez focused on differential.

Newton was a paranoid nutcase was scared that the pbulishers would reject his work - one of his works made a publisher go bankrupt, so he didn't want that to happen again.

*sigh* HERE: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_calculus

Now go own that assignment.
