Why should we emulate the competition when they have simply tried to clone our pioneering model in the first place?

It's like trying to do what they've copied off us...to get back to the same starting point.

Financial Accounting
Social Psychology
Criminal Law
Algebra
Biochemistry
etc etc
Could I suggest grouping them first into majors (eg. accounting, property law, artificial intelligence, etc) and then subgroups of topics (eg. - for accounting - corporate governance, foreign currency, cashflow statement, etc).

Subjects in different unis have different content, but when they cover a topic it will be basically the same, right? So Microeconomics 1 at UNSW will be different to Introductory Microeconomics at USyd, but when they cover the supply curve, prisoner's dilema or indifference curves it will be the same.

I agree, content topics are a far more accurate group than subject names.

If people submitting notes happen to mention the subjects they're tied to, however, we may eventually be able to index notes by subjects at different universities as well as actual content.

Pretty long thread so I haven't read it all before making this suggestion, sorry if someone's already brought it up.

Personally I think it'd be a huge help if there was a programming trained monkey (Multiple languages) of some description housed in front of a computer somewhere at the BoS end. We could feed him (or her! I'm an equal opportunities employer) assignment specs via the forums and it could return the answers to us in a timely, efficient, and most importantly, correct fashion! :)

I'd be willing to post in a big bag of bananas in return for such a service, although I'm not sure how edible they'd be when Australia Post were done with them :)

Hahaha. One more semester of programming left for you though for you isn't it?

I second ogmzergrush's idea though. That would be nifty.

I think that's a great idea! After coming straight out of high school uni is a huge jump. The big challenge is every uni has different ways of delivering a course. Notes of course would be good...but would not be able to satisfy everyone. Even telling Yr 12's and 1st year uni students about experiences would be good too!

I spose anything relating to Uni. I found during 04 that I just wanted to sit down and talk to ppl already in Uni about uni life etc...and found there was nowhere to do that.

But definantly notes etc.....and I guess specific University forums (not every single one, but the main ones...depending on how many ppl from that Uni post) ......that's about all I can think of....

But I seriously think this idea should go ahead!!!

wow thats a great idea! but since uni degrees are so diverse and specialised in each uni (therefore somewhat different), perhaps each document would then require a short description of the content just to clear up the confusion for the noteseekers... as there could be plenty of relevant things overlapped in different uni courses.
