hey guys

right now I have this url;

www.partyatmyplace.cjb.net

redirecting to;

(a rapidshare link here)

with that rapidshare site though, some people, get confused and don't realise they have to scroll down and click FREE and then wait 30 seconds for the download to appear :s

What I'd like to do to resolve this is have www.partyatmyplace.cjb.net redirect to a very basic html page first that gives some basic instructions on how to successfully download the song and then have a new link that peeps click or an automatic redirection to the download page

can such an html page be made in Word?

any help is appreciated!

IIRC just click File, Save As, and there should be an option for HTML whereby it'll convert your word document into the HTML format. You can create hyperlinks in Microsoft Word (from memory it's also [by default] enabled to automatically convert anything with http at the start into a URL)...

If that doesn't work for you, you can always try Frontpage or Frontpage Express- the latter is free (last time I checked).

As fro Notepad, that works too... but why go to the trouble of learning HTML for such a simple purpose unless you have time/dedication/interest in learning it- in which case I'd highly recommend using a program like Dreamweaver whereby you can use HTML and see the results instantly; a real time-saver when teaching yourself HTML.

I will if I have time- but I have IPT on Tuesday. Try to see what you can do, and if something doesn't look right, feel free to ask here =] Always good to try yourself anyway!

That is one HUGE image. If anything, if you can cut that image into separate sections and make each one a bit smaller, it'll make life a bit nicer for people still on dial up. Apart from that, it's a slick execution - nice, clear, and understandable.

yes it can be made in word. i usually use wordpad as thats the easiest to view/edit code.. notepad is better than word also. the problem with word is you get all the underlining n b/s that comes with spelling mistakes etc so its harder to read.

>_> My capped internet isn't even loading it... shows the first line (IIRC it had some yellow text at the top) and then pops up a Script Error; but judging by other people here being able to see it, I think the problem probably lies with my dying router.

Its a simple, fast loading page. Good work, hopefully you will have the incentive to design further in the future.
thanks for that :)

Sorry to bug you but I'm getting a script error still. It loads a bit of the page, and then blanks out in Maxthon (IE). It loads fine in Firefox (and looks really great!) Nice & Simple- easy to follow and nice diagrams *thumbs up*
