Okay, so far these have been my marks:

1st task: My mark = 100%
Average = 88%
Weight = 10%

2nd task: My mark = 60%
Average = 60%
Weight = 20%

3rd task: My mark = 70%
Average = 64%
Weight = 30%

4th task: My mark = 70%
Average = 64%
Weight = 40%

I'm ranked top 10 in the grade out of about 50 students.

Also, my school is ranked 50th.

Oh, and also, I expect to get about 75% - 80% as a raw mark for the HSC exam.

if you get 75-80 raw no way...you need over 90 seeing as your school mark is shit. also legal scales down at uac...so to stay above 90 after scaling you would need hsc mark of about 93 94 to get 90. so no you wont. expec band 4 if you get 75-80 (high band 4)

its difficult to tell how you're school mark will influence your final mark because we don't actually know what your school mark is... i would definitely think that if you are to get a band 6, then you would need to aim for a band 6 as a raw mark in the exam. just do your best, you can't ask for anything more

good luck

Atm, there are no stats available as to what a 75-80 raw mark for Legal would be aligned to.

And also scaling does not take place when determinining particular bands a student has achieved, 4jess7lov is probably thinking of moderating/aligning marks. A HSC Mark of 93-94 is a Band 6.
But im guessing from your rank/school rank/marks/expected marks, you're heading for a mid Band 5 (ie a HSC Mark of around 85)

as in we'rd need roughly 93-94 (theoretically) to get a band 6?

75%-80% is pretty fail for the exam. I remember hearing from a yr 12 legal studies student, if you lose more than 10 marks altogether you're screwed.

You will need a 90 - 100 to get a Band 6 - and those marks comes from your internal assessment and your final HSC exam.

Wahh? I doubt that, that would mean a lot of people will get 90+ raw marks, or a lot of people will fail ...

i dont think 75-80 is referred to as an actual fail here, just a hyperbole to cause the realisation that 75-80 won't get you a band 6.

Pretty up all subjects align up and by quite a bit. I reckon a 80 raw will get around 86 aligned therefore mid band 5. to 4jess7lov: scaling happens afterwards, and nearly all subjects are scaled down.
