Can I get a high band 5 or low band 6 in Eng? (2 Viewers)

iirc ur school rank is 70ish.

look im going to deliver the cold hard truth here. u hav 64 kids in ur grade. and in most of the assessments u have fallen in the latter half of the grade. now ppl are goin to say u can definitely get band 6 from here. but they are assuming that u are going to study like crazy and get like 96 for ur hsc exam. now clearl english is ur worst subject and thats not goin to happen.

heres ur best case scenario.
u get an assessment mark of like 82-83. you get like 92-93 in the HSC which is achievable with a decent amount of work. then u end up getting like a 87-89 as ur overall hsc mark. which is heaps good.
and combined wiff ur amazing science results u should be able to get that 95 u need.

I'm not sure of the accuracy of this, but my teacher said 82/105 is a band 6 for English Advanced.

I have my doubts though, because of the amount of students who do it, and achieve higher than that. Aim for 95/105 raw and you'll most certainly get a band 6, but once again it depends on ur rankings and the assessment mark u get. good luck

So true. That's the thing I really don't like about "i derped derped in my trial exams and every assessment throughout my year, IF i ace the externals can i get a band 6"?

Yeah, as if somehow you'll magically learn everything you need to know once you walk into the HSC exam room - even though you've failed in doing anything spectacular the past 900 assessments you had.

well ur mark could vary greatly if u havent put any effort in throughout the year but are smart.

I disagree with this; school marking for english varies far too much between schools for this to be a valid statement.

Possible by highly unlikely. In a school ranked ~70 and 64 students, you'd be looking at top 15 for a Band 6 and top 20-25 for high Band 5.
