for sure you can, just work hard at it. non of the topics are really that hard as long as you do enough questions to get the fell of it.

well that my 2 cents worth

Course you can, believe me I need to learn alot more than just conics i.e. 75% of the course.

Yep, organisation and specifically motivation has been my weak points.

Natural ability has got me this far, just need to ride it out for another 2 weeks!

it's real simple dude
(a+b) + c = a + b + c
(a)(b) = ab

with those axioms down pat you're set for conics

There really isn't all that much theory to conics. 2-3 hours and you could pretty much absorb it. Then the more difficult questions are basically of the same format as the parabola stuff from HMX.

Although you left it a little late to do that 2-3 hours.

Don't bother. If you know everything else well you should be fine ...

sounds like me :)

Conics is alright if you understand parametrics. Its mostly formula's anyway.

Also, you need to learn how to implicit differentiate.

If you know how to do algebra and you can use implicit differentiation there is no reason why you can't go well in Conics.

EDIT: And the basic formulas for it, ie Foci are (ae,0) and (-ae,0) etc.

Hmm.... now that I think about it, what are the equations for the asymptotes of a hyperbola? Is it y = +/- (bx/a) ?

y = +- bx/a is for x^2/a^2 - y^2/b^2 = 1
then when u interchange x and y, its y=+-ax/b

next Thursday I'll have a Conics exam, but now I can hardly work out a problem on the paper given by my teacher
Conics is one of those things you just have to work on, especially the locus stuff. Go through some problems in Cambridge, and if you can get them out then you can do anything:)
