In Ruse if you fal your prelims for Maths you drop down to 2U. One of my friends wanted to do 3U this year, but because he failed his yearly last year, he's on a warning that he must pass or he drops from 3U. As such, he's beeing made to 14 units, so that if he drops Maths, he'll still have plenty of units.

A few people at my school have already been kicked down for poor marks without an interview or notification. What are your thoughts on that? I personally think this is unfair.
I agree

the teachers responsibility is to notify the students mistakes and also make sure that they learnt from their previous mistakes and if the students feel that they're struggling with the subject, then they're able to make their own decisions.

wrong wrong wrong.
i was one of the few who rejected an offer to drop down to 2unit maths when ext1 was my 11th unit.
it was a decision i did not regret.
they should not force you to drop.

if the class is too full then they will drop you out of it for low marks, also if you are not trying or are failing badly they can strongly suggest you drop it, even hold a conference with you parents, but if you are committed then they cannot force you
