I saw this in the news last week;

Highest Demand jobs:
- ENGINEERING
- NURSING/MEDICINE
- EDUCATION

Jobs suffering with the economic crisis:
- FINANCE AND BANKING
- Most RETAIL (except in grocery, cause people still need to eat)
- MINING

I'm very disappointed myself; having suffered through 3 painstaking years of Accounting at uni and graduating in a few months, this means I will probably end up homeless.

Only Mining if you picked a poor company to work for. We are still hiring people and paying project managers $130/hour :jaw:

Phew!

Also with Australia wanting to install desalination plants; engineers would definately be on demand there. If we make nuclear power plants in 10 years time engineers would be on demand here, removing water content of coal to improve energy yield in an economic way is another engineering demand. These opportunities are excellent for engineers.

I'm not sure. How is the current demand for speech pathologists?

No offence but I hate speech pathologists!!!

When I was seven I was forced to spend 1 hour per week going ttttttt (pronouncing the t sound) and the program did absolutely nothing for me! Please consider something other than such a boring career as that.
