I'm doing the option topic 'Biochemistry of Movement' and Im working on an assessment task about Enzymes. My chosen Enzyme is Catalase.

I did an experiment using a piece of potato. I placed it in a solution of Hydrogen Peroxide (H202) and measured the amount of bubbles formed. I did this at a number of different temps to see how temp affects the rate of reaction.

Anyway, my point is, the catalase I used was from potatoes, but I also know it is in the liver of other animals and humans. I need to know if the type of Catalase is different in each of these locations and if so, how come. From my research I have found data that says the optimum temp is between 0 & 15 C, while other data says between 30-40 C. This is what is causing me the most concern.

Any help would be much appreciated. I have about 1 week left.
