for my seminar i need to talk about the message of The Catcher in the Rye...

so can i like just talk about how different people interpret the messagE? and how i interpret it? or is that the meaning?

im not too sure
but i believe meaning's what the composer is trying to express and show but message is what the composer intends to imform/enlighten/inspire ppl upon

i dont think u shou;d talk about how others n u interpret the msg coz that's pretty hard...
instead you could perhaps talk about what the writer is trying to tell readers and the narrative techniques they've used to do that and hence if they are effective aka if they have achieved putting across they message...n also who the messages are targeted at
