ye, but these guys who've gottan 1/8
mustve found dr/dt, and multiplyied it by 2Pi to get rate c is changing

Which seems to be valid to me.

*shrugs*
hopefully both methods are marked correct

Just worked it out:
f(a+b) = f(a) + f(b)

show that f(0)=1

let a (or b) =0

therefore, if a=0, f(0+b) = f(0) + f(b)
f(b) = f(0) + f(b)
Hence f(0) =1

Y couldnt i have worked that out that in the exam...hmmmmmm.

Still dun know the second part of that question though.

:D

" therefore, if a=0, f(0+b) = f(0) + f(b)
f(b) = f(0) + f(b)
Hence f(0) =1 "

dood, if f(b) = f(0) + f(b)
then f(0) = 0

what was the question again?
my memory's fading...i dumped all my maths knowledge to give room for other subjects

wasnt it f(a+b) = f(a)f(b) ?
or was it f(a+b) = f(a) + f(b)

Coz if it was f(a+b) = f(a)f(b)
im not sure if this is correct, coz i fink the ques said sumfin about real numbers, >1 or sumfin so i didn't use 0

but if u use 0, then:

f(0+b) = f(0)(b)
f(0+b)=f(b)
therefore, f(0) = 1

But i cant remember ques

try and feel some kind of sympathy for the rest of those who didn't do as well as you, instead of telling us that you're upset cos u didn't get into the 90s.

Well, i screwed my trial hard.

i got the results back already, my teacher is pretty good about marking quickly and i only got 39%

so its fucked bad, it was harder than last years trial imo i did last years and got alot of it out but when i went into my trials i was like wtf???

but after the exam some of the questions seemed so easy when i thought about it.

i just hope the hsc isnt like that

The f(a) , f(b) wasn't impossible. All you have to do is look at the information and fit the pieces of the puzzle together. It was a question of logic.

f(a + b) = f(a) * f(b)

therefore

f(0 + x) = f(0)*f(x)
f(x) = F(0) * f(x)
divide by f(x), then
f(0) = 1
All you do is place a zero in and the rest of the answer is damn easy. Look at what they ask you and look at the function and sub in anything you know!!

Simply put the test was: OMG (what I remember of it anyway)

I didn't think it was possible to make up stuff for maths--but I made up quite alot of bs trying to make something equal to something else (which was wrong but oh well) lol

I think the HSC is harder.......thing is you have a lot more time to study for the HSC compared to trials
